WHY BE INTENTIONAL WITH YOUR PARENTING?
Intentional means done in a way that is planned or intended! When you do something with intention you make sure to make it happen. You plan it, schedule it, and you do it with purpose and forethought!
So why be intentional with your parenting?
Many times we do all kinds of things in our life with intention and purpose but we forget it in our parenting! Oh, I don’t mean the everyday caring for our children. We do that pretty naturally! I mean the intentional things that help really bond us with our children and deepen our relationship with them.
I hope in this next 30 days I can encourage you in this area of your family life. I want to share practical, fun, and rewarding things you can do to be intentional in your parenting! Now that my own children are all almost teens, I am seeing the fruit of building relationships with them! They tell you that you can’t be close to your teens but I’m here to tell you that you can be! You can be the one they lean on in hard times and the one they run to for encouragement, prayer, and love! It is never too early to be building relationships with them.
Intentional Parenting will help you:
Win your children’s hearts
Deepen their faith and encourage them in their relationship with God
Make great memories with them that will stay with them for a lifetime
Help them cherish and respect family (you want them to come around when they are grown)
Establish great traditions and special times
Teach them to work hard
Have great conversations with your children
Have relationships with your teens (where they actually come to you for advice more than their peers)
Appreciate meal times together
So get out your calendar for this series! I want you to set some dates as we go along, if you get the dates on your planner/calendar you will be more likely to make it happen!
I hope you will give feedback too! I would love to hear your ideas and how you are intentional in the comments! I know you will inspire me and help other readers! See you tomorrow!
